Why your tracker finds no hands

An import that reads nothing looks like broken software. It almost never is. The reasons, most common first.

The room is not saving anything

Several clients ship with hand history saving off.

Saving keeps only the hands played after it was switched on. Hands played before are in no file, and no tracker can bring them back.

Each room's page on this site says where the setting lives.

Check this first: it is the most common reason, and the quickest to fix.

The tracker is looking in the wrong folder

The room's program folder is not its history folder: hundreds of files, no hands.

Poker Exploit says 'wrong folder' and offers the right one.

Winamax renamed wam to winamax; an old install still writes to the old name.

partypoker files its history under PartyGaming: a disk search for 'partypoker' finds nothing.

If you changed the history folder in the client's settings, that is the folder to import, not the default one.

The client writes in another language

Some clients write histories in the interface language, and an English-only tracker recognises nothing.

Set the client to English, or check which languages your tracker reads.

The least obvious one: right folder, files there, nothing found.

The folder lives in OneDrive

A Documents folder synced by OneDrive can keep its files online only: the names are on the disk, the content is not.

A tracker then finds files it cannot open, or opens them empty.

The quickest test: open one file by hand. If it opens as text with hands in it, a tracker can read it too.

Right-click the history folder and choose 'Always keep on this device', or have the client save outside the synced folder.

You played on another computer

A room writes hand histories on the computer you played on: hands from your laptop are on your laptop.

Copy that folder across and give it to Import. An old folder imports like a new one.

Several computers? Each one's folder goes in once; a hand already imported is not counted twice.

The folder holds summaries, not hands

Tournament summaries give your finish and your prize, not a single hand.

A folder of summaries alone has no hands to import: the hands are in another folder, or were never saved.

The hand is not over yet

A client writes a hand once it is finished; some write only when the table closes.

The hand you are playing is never in the file yet. It arrives after it ends.

Poker Exploit reads each new hand as it is written: your old hands come in first, then the session fills in as you play.

You play tournaments and the tracker reads cash

Cash and tournament histories differ; a tracker can read one and not the other.

Poker Exploit's front page says which rooms it reads tournaments on. Check the same before buying any tracker.

You play a game the tracker does not model

Omaha, short deck and mixed games need another tracker.

A Hold'em tracker that reads them anyway files four hole cards under the wrong questions.

One that refuses them, and says so, is behaving correctly.

When a file is refused

A refused file names the line it could not read. Send us that line: the fix arrives without a new version.

A room that changes its format is fixed the same way: each room's grammar is a file the application updates on its own.

The rest of the folder keeps importing meanwhile: one line it cannot read does not stop the others.

The rooms it reads

PokerStars, Winamax, partypoker, 888poker and Winning Poker Network; iPoker in beta.

Rooms that forbid trackers are not read at all, rather than read quietly.

Still nothing?

Write to hello@poker-exploit.com with the room, the folder, and the line Import showed you.

No hand has to leave your computer for that: the room and the line are usually enough.

Once the hands are in, Plan picks the one leak worth working on, and measures it again at real tables.

The plan screen: one situation being worked on, what it costs per hundred hands, and how far through the cycle it is.

Try it on your own hands.
